POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT METHODOLOGY
The best style of dog training is one that's realistic and comfortable to the owner. We extinguish bad behavior by teaching a replacement behavior that is more appropriate. Positive reinforcement is an evidence-based practice that works fast, is long-lasting, and creates a better relationship between dog and owner. That means less punishment and more celebration!
LEAST INVASIVE - MINIMALLY AVERSIVE
Listen, we don't have any problems with e-collars, but not every dog can handle an e-collar and certainly not dogs that are experiencing fear. We use a fear-free training style that emboldens the relationship and trust between the owner and dog. As board certified trainers, we are obliged to create an ethical and humane treatment plan.
We rarely use e-collars, but we do not exclude them as a training tool. Some dogs do fantastic on an e-collar! We assess e-collar application on a case-by-case basis. We absolutely do not use e-collars for fearful dogs.
